The project is located in Babatpur, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and has been developed for the Purvanchal Educational Trust. Spanning an extensive 2,88,900 Sq.ft. (6.36 Acres), the campus has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate modern educational and institutional needs. With its strategic location and integrated planning, the development provides state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring functionality, accessibility, and a conducive learning environment. Currently marked as Completed, the project stands as a successful model of well-executed design and planning, aligning with the trust’s vision of fostering academic growth and community development.

The Banaras Institute of Teacher’s Education Campus was envisioned as more than just an academic institution — it was designed to be an inspiring environment that nurtures learning, personal growth, and community engagement. The master plan was meticulously crafted to harmonize academic spaces with vibrant outdoor areas, fostering an atmosphere where students can thrive both inside the classroom and across the campus grounds.

Situated in the holy city of Varanasi, just 4 km from the Varanasi International Airport, the campus enjoys a strategic location that blends accessibility with cultural heritage. The design approach modernizes the existing structures while maintaining a deep connection to nature and tradition. Natural materials were thoughtfully integrated into the architecture, ensuring the built environment resonates with the regional context.

One of the standout features is the innovative façade design, which incorporates terracotta tiles and jalis (intricately patterned screens). These elements not only enrich the aesthetic appeal but also function as passive climate-control devices, reducing the interior temperature by up to 10°C and enhancing occupant comfort. The building’s orientation further optimizes natural light and ventilation, minimizing energy consumption.

Sustainability lies at the core of the project. Advanced rainwater harvesting systems and a sewage treatment plant enable the campus to be largely self-sufficient in its water management, reducing its ecological footprint and setting a benchmark for green educational infrastructure in the region.

The Banaras Institute of Teacher’s Education Campus stands as a model of integrated, sustainable, and student-centered design — where architectural excellence meets environmental responsibility, and where education is supported by a campus environment that inspires lifelong learning.
